What to expect with Vitistop Gel
When Will You See New Pigment?
Repigmentation happens step by step. With regular use – Vitistop Gel applied before every NB-UVB 311 nm session or controlled sun exposure, 2–3 times a week – many of our customers notice the first new pigment after about 4–6 weeks.
Weeks 1–4: Building the Routine
Your skin gets used to regular light sessions. You will not see much change yet – this is normal. What matters most now is sticking to the routine, session after session.
Weeks 4–6: The First Pigment Dots
New pigment usually starts as small brown dots, often around the hair follicles inside a white patch, or as a darker rim creeping in from the edge of the patch.
Months 2–3: Dots Grow and Join Up
With continued use the dots slowly grow and begin to merge into small islands of colour. The white areas gradually get smaller.
Darker at First? That Is Normal
Freshly returning pigment can look a little darker than the surrounding skin at first. Over the following months the shade usually evens out and blends in with your natural skin tone.
Tip: take a photo of your patches in the same light once a month – early progress is much easier to see side by side. The face and neck usually respond fastest; hands, feet, elbows and knees need more patience.

Tried and Tested on My Own Skin
I’m Peter, the founder of VitiligoShop – and I have vitiligo myself. I know the feeling of looking at white patches in the mirror and wondering if anything will ever change. How to use
- Vitistop tablets: 1 tablet a day with water, ideally with a meal. Recommended from 12 years of age.
- Apply the gel to the affected areas and wait about 30 minutes before 311 nm NB-UVB phototherapy or controlled sunlight.
- Starting exposure: adults 30 seconds, children 15 seconds. If there is no redness after the previous session, increase by about 20 seconds. The target is a mild pinkish redness only.
- 2–3 sessions per week, at least 48 hours apart. If the skin stays red, wait until it has fully recovered.
